Join the Creative Exchange and Kelowna's artistic community in helping raise funds for the unhoused this winter by collecting a unique piece of art made entirely from the materials and spirit of the Okanagan! We are auctioning off a gigantic, 4x6 foot original painting made collaboratively by over 20 people! This one of a kind piece of art was completed as part of Culture Days 2024 Programming under the guidance of contemporary artist Mackenzie Perras, and was executed using natural, handmade BC pigments including wild ochres and clays, processed and burnt earth pigments, and botanical lake pigments extracted from wild-foraged sage flowers, BC cherries, blueberries and more! Pigments were hand-sourced and foraged throughout the Okanagan and then processed into art pigments, harnessing the spirit of the Okanagan. The piece has been UV stabilized and varnished to extend to the lifetime of these natural pigments. We are offering this piece at auction to raise funds for our annual winter coat drive. We collect gently used, clean winter gear including coats, gloves, hats, boots, socks, tents and sleeping bags along with handwarmers, emergency blankets and stay-warm kits. Our volunteers do wellness checks through tent city during cold snaps, distributing supplies and making sure everybody stays safe.  Piece is available for pickup at the Rotary Centre for the Arts--if you're unable to Pickup I can deliver the piece within Kelowna!
