Rodgers, PhD, CCC-SLP is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her personal and professional experiences with stuttering inspire her program of research which centers on the psychosocial factors associated with stuttering. Currently, she studies how young people who stutter get ready to make positive changes to living with stuttering, and how they process and make meaning of their social experiences. She is actively involved in the stuttering community as a support group facilitator through the National Stuttering Association and FRIENDS.Objective Participants will learn about the five &ldquo;stages of change&rdquo; and how this framework can be utilized in stuttering therapy to maximize adolescents&rsquo; engagement in the change process.
