Monday, August 24th from 9 am EST to 10 am EST This one-hour webinar will provide an update on the prevalence of bilingualism in the world, and the clinical research that has looked at stuttering in bilinguals. Presenters will provide their perspective on bilingualism in English/Mandarin and English/French stutterers, discuss some common myths and update current knowledge on bilingualism as it affects treatment of stuttering. Valerie Lim is a member of the faculty of the Singapore Institute of Technology and has extensive experience working with people who stutter, and uses many approaches to treat stuttering. She is a stuttering specialist with more than 20 years of experience. Valerie provides bilingual stuttering therapy (English and Mandarin) to individuals from Singapore and China in clinic and/or via teletherapy. Valerie is a member of the Lidcombe Program Training Consortium and conducts workshops locally and internationally. Valerie has a special interest in bilingual stuttering, and regularly presents her research findings at international conferences. This webinar is intended for speech-language pathologists.
