The Ensemble’s instruments are made of land-based materials (cast-offs from local trees, found feathers, stones and shells) combined with contact mics, biosensors, and computer software. The participating trees are carefully wrapped with Ribbon Tree fabric, and the performance takes place against a backdrop of <em>Listening to the Forest </em>gratitude blanket by Métis artist Lara Felsing. The Ensemble uses techniques of listening and responding as a sonic weaving of human touch, tree acoustics and forest liveliness.
