The Montreal LGBTQ+ Community Center is proud to invite you to the launch of its literary collection "T4T", a collection by and for trans and non-binary people! The event will take place on Friday, February 2, from 7 to 9 p.m. at 2075 rue Plessis. Bites and refreshments will be served on site.  The T4T collection includes no fewer than 150 books, including comics, poetry, fiction, youth fiction and documentaries. The aim of this collection is to give a voice to trans and non-binary people, notably by tackling themes relating to transition, gender identity, racism, poverty, discrimination, sex work, love, sexuality, the body, gender expression, friendship, parenthood, etc., all through an intersectional and feminist posture. The books have been carefully selected by a committee of concerned individuals, and the collection has been built up from books already in the library and from new purchases. Our aim is also to keep the collection relevant and up to date by continuing to add new works each year. Every donation made with the purchase of a ticket will be used to buy new books for the collection.   To mark the launch, we're honored to welcome special guest Chris Bergeron:  Chris Bergeron is multifaceted, fluid: after starting out in journalism, which led her to manage the cultural weekly Voir, she put her artistic sensibility to work for the biggest advertising agencies, today holding the position of vice-president at Cossette. She also lectures on leadership, diversity, inclusion and trans rights. She is also the author of three novels of trans autofiction: Valide, Vaillante and Vandales.    We'll also be treated to a musical performance by a surprise guest!  This project would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of our collaborators and review committee members:  Myriad Silvergrace, a member of the review committee, helped build BALO's trans collection as a founder of Montreal's Transmasc choir. They are also a poet, animator and LGBTQ+ community organizer.  kimura byol lemoine (ze/zer) is a conceptual multimedia feminist artist, activist and curator who questions binaries and perceptions of identities—diaspora, ethnicity, colorism, post-colonialism, immigration, gender—through calligraphy, painting, poetry, digital and video, and collaborative practice.  Stéphanie (she), a member of the review committee, is a trans woman, a bit of a nerd and a bit of a geek; she wanted to get involved in the development of this collection because she's passionate about reading and writing.  Mika Lagounaris (she), a member of the review committee, is a poet, a trans woman, a person with autism, and a spare-time electro musician. Her first love being books, she has shared her passion for this T4T collection. To read her work, visit mikalagounaris.ca!  Agenda is the project of Judith Lefebvre, a zinester and transfeminist activist from Tiohtià :ke/Moonyiang. It's a publishing house, a distro and a transfeminist bookshop all rolled into one. Its mission is to promote the writing of trans women and people affected by transmisogyny, and to support creative practices and the development of autonomous transfeminist thinking in order to generate liberation and resilience. It publishes and distributes Bitezine, a project of TRAPS, a local transfeminist collective.  Accessibility: Please note that the building is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
