Chantal Durand likes to think of the body as a stranger with whom we live. Just like a bag we carry around with us without ever opening it, without really knowing what's inside. She sometimes likes to imagine us wearing our organs on the outside of our bodies, like bizarre ornaments. Chantal Durand aime penser le corps comme un étranger avec lequel on vit. Comme un sac que l’on transporte toujours avec soi sans jamais l’avoir ouvert, sans trop savoir ce qu’il contient. Pour cela, elle aime parfois nous imaginer portant nos organes à l’extérieur de notre corps, telles d’étranges parures. Cette démarche ramène à l’exhibition de la matérialité du corps mais aussi à l’idée de non-permanence. Dessin sans titre (champignon et feuille d'or) représente une œuvre sculpturale de l'artiste réfléchissant à la notion de parure et d'embellissement du naturel.
