Community Grandmother Drum-Making &amp; Cultural Sharing Join Gitxsan Knowledge Carrier Brittany Haugen &amp; Elder Deborah Nelson for two powerful afternoons of traditional drum-making and cultural sharing. Participants will learn about the cultural significance of the drum, cedar teachings, traditional protocols, and song while creating a community grandmother drum together. Join us for 2 afternoons of stories, teachings, and food while experiencing the beautiful art of the Drum. This series is appropriate for adults and older teens accompanied by an adult who are able to respectfully participate in ceremony.&nbsp; This drum making series includes 2 sessions, we encourage all participants to attend both afternoons. On August 22nd we will be making the drum and on September 19th we will be awakening the drum together with song. &nbsp;_________________________________________________________________________________________ This workshop is the first offering in a larger series of Indigenous traditional arts experiences presented through a partnership between The Langham Cultural Society and the Circle of Indigenous Nations Society (COINS).
