18tpy, written and directed by Momo Burns-Min, follows a group of young actors navigating identity, adulthood, and in-betweenness. Isobel, Tanya, Beck, Adam, and Omar all belong to the “18tpy” casting category: they are over-18 actors who can read younger. What is it like to play the geeky band kid one day and a down-on-their-luck stripper the next? Or trying to have a sex life when you pay the bills by pretending to be fifteen? Or getting ID’d at twenty-four because (as your agent says) you’ll be seventeen until you’re seventy? Friendship, romance, sex, competition, jealousy, self-discovery, and a whole lot of impostor syndrome.
