Faith and spirituality can be a source of strength, a source of struggle, or a complicated part of your story, and all of that is welcome here. Each session invites participants to share their experiences openly while supporting one another in a non‑judgmental, stigma‑free environment. This is not therapy, religious instruction, or crisis intervention. It is a facilitated peer support group where recovery journeys and spirituality can be explored together with care and respect. How the group is ledAs a peer and RSSW, Nolisha facilitates using evidence‑informed, recovery‑oriented principles such as trauma‑aware facilitation, respect for diverse spiritual perspectives and traditions, non‑judgmental listening, stigma reduction around both addiction and faith, recovery‑oriented discussion rather than doctrine or debate, and clear voluntary participation and personal boundaries. You do not need to belong to any particular religion or denomination to attend. People of all faiths&mdash;and people who are unsure, questioning, or wounded by past spiritual experiences&mdash;are welcome. Group structure (1-hour format)Each 60‑minute session follows a consistent structure to create safety and predictability. The group begins with a brief welcome and grounding (about 5 minutes), followed by a check‑in round (about 10&ndash;15 minutes) where participants can share how they are arriving emotionally, spiritually, and in their recovery. The middle of the hour focuses on a topic discussion (about 25 minutes) around a weekly theme. This is followed by a reflection round (about 10 minutes) where participants can name what they are taking away, and a short closing (about 5 minutes) to end with grounding or an intention for the week ahead. Example 8‑week theme arcOver an eight‑week series, themes may include: Introductions and what recovery means; shame, compassion, and grace; doubt, anger, and spiritual struggle; identity beyond addiction; forgiveness and healing relationships; community and belonging; meaning, purpose, and calling; and hope and continuing the journey. You are welcome to join at any point, and the space will remain accessible whether it is your first or eighth session. How this connects to Recovery Without BordersRecovery Without Borders (RWOB) is a global, peer‑led initiative building a full recovery ecosystem&mdash;from early struggles with mental health and addiction through treatment, and into work, housing, and long‑term stability. This faith‑based group is one part of that ecosystem, alongside daily online forums, other themed peer groups (men&rsquo;s, couples, women&rsquo;s, parents, sex/porn recovery), and partners focused on real‑world outcomes in employment and housing. By joining this group, you are stepping into a community that believes you should not have to choose between your recovery and your spiritual questions&mdash;you can bring your whole self.
