✊&nbsp;After 13 years, we&#39;re brewing up our final Coffee Cup Revolution! ✊ Binners&rsquo; Project&rsquo;s pop-up depot returns to Victory Square Park for one final Coffee Cup Revolution, creating space to celebrate the binners who have made this event what it is, reflect on what we&rsquo;ve built together, and look ahead to what comes next. ☕&nbsp;A Million Coffee Cups, and Counting ☕ The Coffee Cup Revolution was spearheaded by the late Ken Lyotier in 2014, building on his work in the early 1990s that helped lead to the expansion of BC&rsquo;s Bottle Bill to include many non-alcoholic beverage containers that are now part of the refund system. For 13 years, binners have been at the heart of the Coffee Cup Revolution, showing what&rsquo;s possible when people with lived experience have the opportunity to lead, organize, and create community solutions around waste. Last year alone, binners collected 213,841 coffee cups, generating $21,384.10 in refunds directly for binners. Over 13 years, that work has added up to more than one million coffee cups diverted. This year, we&rsquo;re bringing you the final chapter of Coffee Cup Revolution, celebrating the people and relationships that have shaped it, and making space to hear from binners about what they want to see next. ♻️&nbsp;About Binners&#39; Project ♻️ Binners&rsquo; Project is a group of waste-pickers aided by support staff dedicated to improving their economic opportunities, and reducing the stigma they face as informal recyclable collectors.
