Valued at $80
Pysanky (pysanka, singular) is a Ukrainian folk art of decorating raw eggs using a wax-resist method. The word comes from the Ukrainian verb pysaty, meaning "to write," as designs are "written" onto the egg with melted beeswax using a stylus called a kistka. The beeswax protects the shell from dye, and layers of wax are added and removed through dye baths to create intricate, colorful patterns. Ancient symbols were originally used for talismans of prosperity and protection, but with the introduction of Christianity, the interpretations evolved.

This is a grounding Mat Valued at $95
Grounding is everywhere in our lives. The electrical appliances we rely on to live our lives would catch fire and explode if they weren’t grounded, due to a lack of electron balance.
From the outside, the effects of being ungrounded may be hidden, but internally, there's a dangerous reaction taking place within our bodies, as excess electrons from electronic devices have nowhere to escape, they wreck havoc on our cells & internal functioning.
By connecting your body to the earth’s natural healing energy through the GroundingWell Mat, the earth’s healing electrons enter your flesh and cells, neutralizing the harmful effects of external electrical interference, almost instantaneously.

Title: Nature's Quiet Magic
Size: 36 X 48"
Value: $1800
Min Bid: $500
ORIGINAL VIEW at Elizabeth's Art Gallery
Description: "Nature’s Quiet Magic invites viewers into a serene landscape where every element feels thoughtfully placed and alive with subtle energy. A commanding tree stands proudly to the right, its trunk shimmering with iridescent textures that hint at something otherworldly beneath the bark. Clusters of red fruit hang generously among lush green leaves, symbolizing nature’s bounty and generosity. Below, smooth stones form a gentle embankment that roots the tree firmly in place, while roots stretch through the rocks, whispering stories of strength and resilience.
Across the middle ground, a calm body of water stretches wide, reflecting soft hints of blue and green that mingle effortlessly with the pastel sky above. The sky itself is a delicate wash of pinks, purples, and blues, blending in a way that feels both peaceful and expansive, suggesting a quiet moment between day and night. On the left, a simple wooden bridge arches modestly over the rocky shore, offering a quiet invitation to cross between worlds—nature’s realm and the human touch.
The artwork combines mixed media elements—glittery accents, collaged stones, and an abstract, dreamy sky—to amplify the magic found in the natural world. It celebrates the enduring power of nature to give, to endure, and to inspire, creating a landscape that feels both grounded and a little enchanted."
Artist Statement: My art is an ever-evolving exploration of color, texture, and emotion. Working primarily with acrylic and mixed media, I blend abstract concepts with realistic elements to create pieces that are both whimsical and ethereal. My process involves embellishing acrylic fluid art with varied textures to bring out the expressionistic and surreal qualities of each work. This results in a dynamic interplay of energy, movement, and flow that often manifests as abstract landscapes or seascapes incorporating musical instruments. Each piece is designed to evoke deep emotions and transport the viewer to a fantastical realm.
Subject matter selection is an intuitive and deeply personal process for me. I am drawn to themes and scenes that evoke strong emotions or carry significant meaning. The foundation of my work often begins with an abstract underpainting that guides the direction of the final piece, allowing my subconscious mind to steer the creative journey.
I find myself spontaneously attracted to scenes and elements that my subconscious mind brings forth. This intuitive approach ensures each piece remains unique and true to my inner creative currents.
Nature, intense colors, and spiritual elements are my primary sources of inspiration. These aspects fuel my creativity, helping me to infuse each piece with a vitality and spirit that resonates deeply with viewers.
My technique involves creating intriguing underpaintings or first layers through methods like dripping, dabbing, texturing, and scribbling. This initial phase is often accompanied by dancing and listening to instrumental jazz, allowing me to fully immerse in the creative process. I then use intuition to develop these underpaintings into meaningful works, sometimes leveraging technology to experiment with ideas before returning to the canvas. This unique blend of spontaneity, multimedia techniques, and digital experimentation makes my art distinctive and vibrant.
ARTIST BIO:Born amidst the quiet farmlands of Southwestern Ontario, Canada, Lisa Golem emerged as an extraordinary artist whose life has been painted with imagination and creativity from a young age. Growing up on a farm north of Kitchener/Waterloo, she was introduced early on to the arts by her mother, a hobby painter, and her father, a farmer and trucker who expressed himself through music. Her childhood, filled with the gentle rhythms of farm life and animated by imaginative play with imaginary friends and mud pies, laid the fertile ground for her creative spirit.
Lisa's journey into the arts wasn't an immediate one. From childhood, she always gravitated towards creative endeavors, driven by an innate curiosity and a penchant for the imaginative. Although she dabbled in art throughout her school years and took occasional university classes, it wasn't until her late 40s that she fully embraced her identity as an artist. Before that, she pursued a career in therapeutic counseling, after obtaining a psychology degree in 2000. However, the emotional weight of her profession eventually took a toll on her health, prompting her to leave the field and turn to art as a professional pursuit.
Her artistic oeuvre took shape when she began teaching 'paint and sip' sessions in local bars and restaurants, a venture that married her love for creation with community engagement. The global COVID-19 pandemic, however, shifted her focus once again, as she moved to a retirement community and found new vigor in developing her unique style: an intuitive blend of abstract art interlaced with realism. The vibrant colors and dynamic energy of her work echo her belief that art is a healing force, a sentiment that resonates through her creative process where she surrenders to the spontaneous evolution of her canvas.
Golem's technique is deeply kinetic and process-oriented, a testament to her philosophy of art as an organic experience. She does not visualize her work before she begins but allows each stroke to inform the next, leading to her distinctive blend of abstract and realistic elements. This spontaneity endows her work with an ethereal quality that captivates viewers, encouraging personal interpretation and deeper engagement.
Through her "Seasons & Song" series, she achieved a symphony of artistic expression by complementing each piece with her own musical compositions, performed live with her son on opening night—an achievement she considers among her most rewarding. Her ability to fuse visual art and music exemplifies her innovative spirit and passion for storytelling.
Lisa draws inspiration from a variety of sources. She is a dedicated member of the Goderich Coop Gallery, where she was honored with Best in Show in 2023, adding another accolade to her growing list, including the Best in Show at The Wild Goose Gallery in Blyth in 2024. Her work has been celebrated for its unique vision, intricate details, and evocative use of texture and color.
Beyond the canvas, Lisa embraces her passion for performance as a vocalist and keyboardist in a classic rock band and as a female baritone in a barbershop quartet. Her pursuits in music and fiction writing further underscore her multifaceted creativity and her view that art in all its forms is profoundly transformative. For her, art is both a personal sanctuary and a powerful medium of communication and healing, capable of transforming chaos into hope and infusing life with vibrancy.
Lisa Golem’s contributions to the art world reflect her deep-seated belief in the transformative power of creativity and the critical role art plays within society—both as a catalyst for personal growth and a source of community connection and joy. As she continues to evolve her craft, Lisa remains a passionate advocate for art's ability to bring life, hope, and healing to the world around her.
