Come to the beautiful Maloca Community Garden for a screening of four short films by Kahstoserakwathe Paulette Moore.&nbsp; We&rsquo;ll watch the films, drink herbal tea, and share a discussion about the films with the filmmaker and Mohawk language teacher Wishe Mitchell Brant. **Bring an extra blanket or folding chair to sit on, if you&#39;re able! We&#39;ll also have some blankets available on-site. This program features four films that center Mohawk language, community care, and our responsibilities to one another and the land. Together these films show Haudenosaunee storytelling as a living practice rooted in land, language, and kinship, shaping a future of continuity, empowerment, and love. ABOUT THE FILMSThe Thanksgiving Address gifts audiences the Oh&eacute;nton Karihwatehkwen in Kanyen&rsquo;k&eacute;:ha. Community members share this essential ceremonial practice that honors every part of Creation and reminds us of our place within it. Ionkwahronkha&rsquo;onhatie&rsquo;: We Are Becoming Fluent documents a growing language movement. The Ionkwahronkha&rsquo;onhatie&rsquo; group travels to Washington, DC for the 2025 Smithsonian Folklife Festival, connecting with other communities while strengthening fluency, pride, and cultural presence. VESS follows a Six Nations carpenter and philosopher who channels profound grief into the creation of a new home for a young family returning to their territory. The build becomes a space of humour, language learning, and the renewal of relationships that hold people up in difficult times. The Clay She Was Made draws parallels between the profound strength and creativity of Sky Woman from the Haudenosaunee creation story and the filmmaker&#39;s mother. This two-minute animated and live-action film is narrated all in Kanyen&#39;k&eacute;ha (Mohawk). ABOUT THE FILMMAKERKahstoserakwathe Paulette Moore is a Kanyen&rsquo;keh&aacute;:ka (Mohawk) enrolled citizen of Six Nations of the Grand River. She is a filmmaker/media creator/scholar dedicated to Indigenous revitalization through storytelling. Kahstoserawkathe is co-founder of The Aunties Dandelion media organization where she produces documentary and narrative films and a monthly podcast centering Indigenous matrilineal wisdom, leadership, and creativity. She recently completed three years of Mohawk language immersion; graduating as a fluent speaker (ACTFL intermediate/high &ndash; Onkwaw&eacute;nna Kenty&oacute;hkwa). She spent two decades as director/producer/writer with Discovery Channel, National Geographic, and other platforms and a year in Tokyo, Japan as a reporter with Asia Now (PBS).
