Power Camp, 2026!&nbsp; &nbsp;G.I.R.L.S (Growth, Independence, Respect, Leadership, Self-Esteem), is a 2 day camp for grade 8 girls who live in Haldimand or Norfolk. Coordinated by Haldimand &amp; Norfolk Women&#39;s Services, this unique weekend camp experience fosters a safe, supportive space for girls to build confidence, learn about healthy relationships, and explore their strengths. &nbsp;Campers will learn about self esteem, making the transition to grade 9, and creating connections. Held at the beautiful Tim Horton&#39;s Onondaga farms in St. George Ontario, the camp includes an overnight camping experience in heated cabins, self-defense, a high ropes course experience, yoga and more!&nbsp; Please complete this form to register a participant and share any needs or concerns. Hi, Thank you for registering for our event.&nbsp; G.I.R.L.S. Power Camp is a two-day camp program taking place on June 6th-June 7th, 2026 at Tim Hortons Camp/Onondaga Farms in St. George. &nbsp;The camp is available to girls from Haldimand and Norfolk in Grade 8 and is facilitated by young women in the community ages 16-25.&nbsp;The goals of Power Camp are:<ul fr-original-style="list-style-type: undefined;margin-left:0.5in;" style="list-style-type: undefined; margin-left: 0.5in; box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">To build self-esteem and confidence among the participants;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">To raise the girls&rsquo; awareness about young women&rsquo;s issues such as body image, peer pressure, healthy relationships &amp; healthy bodies;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">To develop critical thinking skills among girls and young women in order that they may make informed choices;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">To connect participants to community resources and supports;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">To prepare the girls for the transition to high school&nbsp;</li></ul>&nbsp;Drop-Off and Pick-Up Times:&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Saturday, June 6th &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;8:30 a.m. &nbsp; Drop-off&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Sunday, June 7th &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 4:30 p.m. Pick-up All meals will be provided. Please do not bring in any food, drink or snack items, with the exception of a water bottle and water. &nbsp;Saturday June 6th, the girls will be staying overnight at the camp.&nbsp;Campers must bring: &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<ul fr-original-style="list-style-type: undefined;margin-left:0in;" style="list-style-type: undefined; margin-left: 0in; box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Sleepwear/PJs</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Bedding is provided but any extra&rsquo;s they feel more comfortable with is welcome</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Toiletries, towel and face cloth if needed</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Change of clothes</li></ul>Campers may bring:Stuffed animal, blanket, slippers, book&nbsp; Campers will be taking part in the High Ropes Course, self-defense training, a yoga class and numerous interactive workshops and adventures based upon body image, peer pressure, media pressures and other issues related to girls. Every day the girls will be involved in outdoor and indoor activities regardless of weather. We recommend weather-appropriate clothing, including a light jacket, sweaters, pants etc. Girls require closed toe shoes to be on the high ropes course. Girls are welcome to bring indoor shoes/slippers to wear inside. Campers are required to attend the entirety of the camp. If you know that you are unable to attend a day due to sporting events, school activities or for other reasons, please notify us as soon as possible so we can offer your spot to someone on the waitlist. Your registration fee will be refunded as long as you have notified us 2 weeks prior to camp starting. If your camper is not comfortable staying overnight with us, please discuss this with a staff member. While we do encourage campers to challenge their comfort zones and take safe risks, we also do understand that there may be reasons that this is not something folks are comfortable with.
