The sugar-lift technique allows you to transfer the spontaneity of a brushstroke onto the plate using a sugar-based solution. Soft ground, on the other hand, allows you to create lines, textures, and impressions using various materials before etching with acid. During this 12-hour hands-on workshop, you&rsquo;ll create one plate using the sugar-lift technique and one using soft ground, then learn how to print them using intaglio techniques. You&rsquo;ll also experiment with applying a background color using a roller during the printing process.
