Join us on October 24, 2026 for a scenic 10 km hike on the Deadmans Bay Path.&nbsp;Follow experienced ECT volunteer hike leaders Theresa and Karla for an estimated 5-6 hour hike from Fort Amherst, southbound to Blackhead. You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the meeting place, however carpooling is encouraged.&nbsp;Meeting Time: 9:00 amMeeting Location: Blackhead (end of the road, facing the ocean -- if there is inadequate parking space for the vehicles left there, planned location of vehicles will occur at that time)&nbsp;Logistics &amp; CarpoolingBecause this is an end to end linear hike, carpooling logistics are required:*9:00- Meetup: All participants will meet at Blackhead at 9:00 am*Carpooling: We will leave a few cars in Blackhead and consolidate into a few vehicles and drive to the trailhead&nbsp;at Fort Amherst.*The Hike: We will hike south from Fort Amherst to Blackhead, ending &nbsp;at our parked vehicles*Carpooling: We will carpool together to bring people back to their cars in Fort Amherst before wrapping up for the day. Preparation &amp; GearTo ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, please come prepared:*Footwear: Sturdy hiking boots or &nbsp;shoes with good traction are recommended*Clothing: Dress in layers suitable for the weather*Nutrition: Bring adequate drinking water and trail snacks adequate for an 8 hour hike Note: Hike leaders may turn away any participant who arrives without proper footwear or gear for safety reasons. Weather &amp; CancellationsIf poor conditions make hiking unsafe, the outing may be postponed or cancelled. Registered participants will be notified via email by 7:00 am on the morning regarding any changes.
