Plus, you&rsquo;ll discover the truth about llama spit&mdash;rest assured, they WON&rsquo;T spit at you! The Llama Sanctuary is the largest camelid rescue organization in North America and also operates a cat re-homing facility for rescued kitties. You will gain a deeper appreciation, not only for our residents and the essential work being done to protect them, but the need to care for wildlife also. You&#39;ll also have the chance to interact with our gentle giants by hand-feeding some of our most inquisitive llamas and alpacas&mdash;a truly unique and memorable experience! &nbsp;Even the most nervous visitors gain confidence with large animals, through these gentle and respectful creatures. &nbsp;These educational outings are designed to be both informative and fun, providing the perfect mix of learning and personal connection with our animal &nbsp;friends. The event is a tour of all the barns, meeting the llamas and alpacas. &nbsp;End your outing with a visit to The Sanctuary Gift Shoppe, where you can find llama, alpaca, and kitty-themed handcrafted items, as well as a selection of fibre and craft supplies.Enjoy a cool drink in the &nbsp;covered picnic area and watch the llamas and alpacas passing by. Suitable for all ages, a visit to The Llama Sanctuary offers a wonderful way to spend time together as a family or with friends, gaining new knowledge and enjoying the beauty of the Shuswap region.&nbsp;&nbsp;There is no charge for infants, but they must be in constant care of an adult. If you happen to have a bag of empty beverage containers awaiting deposit at the bottle bank, The Llama Sanctuary has an ongoing bottle drive and should be very grateful to receive them.
