Assalamu Alykum!! Come join us for this semester's community iftar in collaboration with MSS McGill—Iftar of Barakah: A Night of Blessings & Hospitality. The concept of barakah (بَركة) refers to divine blessings, abundance, and spiritual prosperity in all aspects of life. One of the greatest sources of barakah is sharing food and hospitality, something deeply embedded in Moroccan culture! From the Prophet’s ﷺ teachings on barakah to the Moroccan tradition of gathering around a shared meal, this iftar is an opportunity to embrace generosity, gratitude, and togetherness. The Iftar will be held on the 20th of February at 5:00 PM in the SSMU Ballroom (room 301, 3480 McTavish). We will have certain rules to avoid food wastage so please take your time to read them: 1. Gates will open at 5:00pm and will remain open only to attendees with a Zeffy ticket till 5:25pm.2. Gates will be opened to everyone (without ticket) at 5:25pm till we reach the room capacity.3. A MEAL IS NOT GUARANTEED EVEN WITH TICKET AFTER 5:25pm UNLESS INFORMED FROM BEFORE! Please let us know WELL IN ADVANCE if you will be late so that we can reserve your meal.4. For the dress code, we encourage everyone to wear their traditional clothes (if possible)! Note: Prayer arrangements will be made. Limited scarves, skirts, etc., will be available.
