About the Hospice Hummingbirds:&nbsp;In 2023, a dedicated group of Hospice Simcoe volunteers confronted a profound challenge: how can we encourage open conversations about death and dying in a way that is lighthearted, entertaining and informative.Surrounded by the realities of end of life care ,witnessing families grappling with unspoken wishes and unresolved regrets , we recognized the urgent need for advance care planning education in Simcoe County. &nbsp;Inspired by the power of the arts to bridge a difficult divide, the volunteers posed this question to themselves at a meeting. The answer emerged boldly: create a musical play. Through catchy melodies, witty dialogue, and relatable characters &ldquo;advance care planning the musical&rdquo; transformed a sombre theme into an uplifting narrative. What began as a grassroots effort among volunteers has quickly gained momentum, and feedback has revealed its impact: attendees are reporting &nbsp;initiating long overdue discussions.The reason for starting this play extends beyond entertainment &ndash; it is a call to action and our aim is to empower individuals to have this vital conversation to ensure their voices ,about their future health and personal care, are heard!
