Join us in the AX Ceramics Centre with artist-in-residence, Jenna Ross for a four-week beginner Intro to ceramics course. Learn the basics of making pots on a pottery wheel along with clay handbuilding techniques and glazing. Students will be introduced to the steps of &quot;throwing&quot; pots on the wheel and will practice making their own simple forms. They will also learn the three main handbuilding techniques of pinch, slab, &amp; coil along with some simple sculpting methods. Project pieces will include a pinch pot planter, a slab built mug, a coil bowl, plus two wheel pots to take home. Pieces will be kiln fired between sessions 3 and 4, reserving the last session for glaze decorating. Students&#39; pots will all receive a final glaze kiln firing, and then will be available for pickup at a later date.&nbsp;No experience necessary, just a willingness to learn, get muddy and have fun. There are two classes running concurrently - 1230-4pm and 530-9pm so you can choose which ever class fits your schedule!
