The AGM will include the regular business of the Board of Directors, updates on agency operations and our values in action, and a look at the year ahead. This year&rsquo;s meeting will also be featuring the journeys of some former newcomers, namely Sonia Lazar and Carina Blumgrund. Sonia was born in Moscow, Russia, then emigrated to Israel with her family, where she began to take violin lessons at the age of eight. She has been a member of the first violin section of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra since 2016, and will be performing some special musical pieces for us. Carina Blumgrund, a longtime JCFS staff member, will share stories from her grassroots volunteer work in the inner city and discuss her recently released book inspired by those experiences. We will also get a sneak peak at an upcoming program highlighting the voices of newcomer women.&nbsp; Anyone connected to or interested in the work of JCFS is welcome to attend. The meeting is an opportunity to learn more about our impact in areas such as counselling, mental health and addictions, older adult services, settlement services, child welfare, volunteer services, programming, and community support. Light refreshments will be available after the meeting. We look forward to seeing you there!
