Kate Greenland has been a fixture in the Ottawa area music scene for more than a decade. She possesses a pure versatile voice that she expresses in country, folk and bluegrass styles. A recent reviewer from Apt613 compared her delivery to that of Emmylou Harris and Gillian Welch. That’s high praise and great company. Kate’s debut album entitled “Longing and Dreaming” contains all original material, with poignant lyrics and tunes inspired by her love of the classic country music of the 60’s and 70’s. Some Rasputin’s followers will know Kate from her work with Elizabeth Foster, Sherry Philp and Pat Moore in The Monroe Sisters, a bluegrass band named after legend Bill Monroe. Kate also partners with Trevor Poll in the duo, Old Time Jam.
