Wendy served in the Canadian Forces and has held several key leadership positions with the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation, including serving as Councillor (2001-2003, 2017-2020) and Chief (2020-2023). Currently serving as Indigenous Liaison at Innovation 7, Wendy continues to build bridges between communities and create opportunities for Indigenous advancement.&nbsp; Jim Stone is a founding vice President of Kichi Sibi Trails. As a retired Canadian diplomat with seven assignments abroad and wilderness canoer he brings analytical skills to the organization. These include locating Indigenous trails in the Ottawa area, mapping Algonquin place names in Algonquin territory and delving into the life and times of the Algonquin Grand Chief Louis Constant Pinesi (1764-1832). Grand Chief Pinesi was the seventh generation ancestor of Wendy Jocko. He is also the last Algonquin chief who had hunting grounds in the Ottawa area. Jim is interested in historical references to Algonquin place names and presence in the Rideau Lakes area. The Newboro and Area Heritage Society (NAHS) is dedicated to preserving, interpreting, and promoting the history of Newboro and the Rideau Lakes region through exhibitions, educational programming, and heritage initiatives. Chair Kim Lulashnyk provides leadership in heritage preservation and community programming while also serving as Owner and Creative Director of Stone Manor Studios, a centre for arts education and creative practice in Newboro. Vice-Chair&nbsp;Ted Stewart, a retired archaeological technician, naturalist, and artist, has spent over three decades documenting the long Indigenous presence in southeastern Ontario and also contributes his expertise as a member of the Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee.
