Dans cette formation explorant les possibilités offertes par le chine collé, les participants apprendront à maîtriser cette technique ancienne en découvrant les différents types de papiers, de colles et leurs usages. Nous travaillerons également la superposition de plusieurs papiers et les diverses façons de les découper afin d’offrir un nouveau contexte à une gravure. Grâce à des couleurs acryliques diluées, il sera aussi possible de créer ses propres papiers japonais adaptés à la matrice. Enfin, nous verrons comment utiliser cette technique avec des papiers gampi très fins. Il est essentiel que les participants apportent leurs propres matrices métalliques (cuivre, zinc) déjà gravées, car aucun temps ne sera consacré à la création des plaques, mais bien à leur impression sur des papiers japonais selon la technique du chine collé. Après avoir obtenu un baccalauréat en éducation à l’Université Laval à Québec, Paule Mainguy s’oriente vers les arts graphiques. Formée à l’impression en taille-douce par le maître-imprimeur François-Xavier Marange, elle demeure fidèle à cette discipline et choisit naturellement l’estampe comme principal moyen d’expression.
