Join us for an evening of choral music as singers of the Symphony Nova Scotia Chorus come together in support of the Nova Scotia Choral Federation. Recent funding reductions from Arts Nova Scotia have had a direct impact on choral music across the province&mdash;affecting community choirs, youth programs, and opportunities for singers of all ages. This concert is both a celebration and a call to action. Through music, we aim to support the continued vitality of choral singing in Nova Scotia.&nbsp; The program will centre on the Kodaly setting of the Missa Brevis, which interprets the sacred text through modal harmony and folksong-inspired melodies, coupled with a lyrical romanticism. The choir will also perform choral favourites such as Morten Lauridsen&#39;s &quot;Sure on This Shining Night&quot; and be joined by several instrumentalist guest stars to round out the evening in celebration of our music making community.&nbsp; Admission is offered on a pay-what-you-can basis. All proceeds will go toward supporting the work of the Nova Scotia Choral Federation and sustaining choral music in our communities. Whether you are a longtime supporter of choral music or simply love a beautiful evening of song, your presence&mdash;and your support&mdash;will make a meaningful difference.
