This is a very special kind of series — while we all love being at performances by the incredible artists in our city, we don’t often get to hear about the music they really love, or which has influenced them. That’s what this series is about — a relaxed informal hangout, with amazing music, and the insights of very cool artists, brilliantly presented on audio ark’s state of the art hi-fi equipment. As a soloist and collaborationist Raylene has, for many years, been at the centre of sound-centred art in our city and beyond. Whether improvising, devising innovative interdisciplinary projects with collaborators, leading Deep Listening sessions, or composing intricate scores, Raylene is always moving forward and making new discoveries, and realizing them in renowned live performances and recordings. New Music Edmonton is proud to be working together with audio ark on the Listen To This! series, and to be a contributor to audio ark’s ongoing community outreach.
