Inviting these qualities into our revision practice&mdash;in other words, loosening our grip&mdash;can help us work with &ldquo;stubborn&rdquo; poems: the ones that resist our efforts, that still seem so far from where we&rsquo;d like them to be. In this 1.5 hour workshop, we&rsquo;ll explore unclenching our approach to the page and tuning into poetry&#39;s wild, playful, and sinuous impulses. Participants will be offered a variety of strategies for this purpose and may (optionally) choose to bring one of their own &quot;stubborn&quot; poems to experiment with. Lauren Peat&#39;s debut poetry chapbook, Future Tense,&nbsp;was recently published by Baseline Press. Her poems, essays, and translations have appeared in Arc Poetry Magazine, Asymptote, Only Poems, The Malahat Review, The New Quarterly,&nbsp;and World Literature Today,&nbsp;among other places. Her writing is also featured in the repertoire of acclaimed vocal ensembles across North America.
