Wielding forgotten fiddles that could turn classical music scholars to stone, these folk innovators are reimagining the string trio. Medusa cross-pollinates traditional music from around the world with original music, masterful storytelling, and their one-of-a-kind instruments to create a &quot;must-see live show&quot; (Sam Boer, Exclaim!). Garnering a Canadian Folk Music Award with their breakout EP, they have wowed audiences across North America and the UK, and have just release their first full-length album Weaving Gold in Broken Places.&nbsp; The Owl&#39;s Club has a bar! Their card system can be unreliable, so come prepared with cash. We will be having a potluck table so feel free to bring food or snacks. &nbsp;If you intend to share something please have an index card or something with the ingredients on it to avoid allergy issues. &nbsp;Avoid peanuts in general. No partner or experience necessary. We offer workshops and dance sessions to ensure everyone feels at home on the dance floor. Balfolk dancing is popular social dancing from Western Europe, a recent revival of traditional, mostly French, folk dances.&nbsp;Bourr&eacute;es, jigues, gavotte, mazurkas, waltzes, scottishes: some partner dances, some group dances, some snakey chain dances.
