Pour ouvrir sa saison 2025-2026, le Ch&oelig;ur St-Laurent vous convie &agrave; un voyage musical consacr&eacute; &agrave; la musique sacr&eacute;e, alliant recueillement, r&eacute;confort et consolation, du myst&egrave;re de l&rsquo;Avent jusqu&rsquo;&agrave; l&rsquo;&eacute;clat de l&rsquo;&eacute;ternit&eacute;. Le programme sera dirig&eacute; par quatre cheffes et chefs invit&eacute;s issus de la rel&egrave;ve, Johanna Schreibweis, Jeffrey Chan, Haodong Ma et Kody Pisney, qui mettront &agrave; l&rsquo;honneur des &oelig;uvres sacr&eacute;es d&rsquo;une profonde beaut&eacute;, traversant les si&egrave;cles et les traditions chorales d&rsquo;Europe et d&rsquo;ailleurs, et r&eacute;v&eacute;lant la richesse de la polyphonie. La premi&egrave;re partie &eacute;voquera la ferveur de l&rsquo;attente et la douceur de la Nativit&eacute; &agrave; travers des &oelig;uvres sacr&eacute;es de Mendelssohn, Rachmaninoff, Mahler et Villette, m&ecirc;lant lyrisme, recueillement et &eacute;clat. To open its 2025-2026 season, the St-Lawrence Choir invites you on a musical journey devoted to sacred music, combining reflection, comfort, and consolation, from the mystery of Advent to the brilliance of eternity. The program will be led by four emerging guest conductors, Johanna Schreibweis, Jeffrey Chan, Haodong Ma, and Kody Pisney, who will showcase sacred works of profound beauty, spanning centuries and choral traditions from across Europe and beyond, and revealing the richness of polyphony. The first half will evoke the fervor of anticipation and the gentle spirit of the Nativity through sacred works by Mendelssohn, Rachmaninoff, Mahler, and Villette, blending lyricism, reflection, and brilliance. The second half will continue this spiritual journey, offering contemplation, comfort, and sacred polyphony, featuring works by Sch&uuml;tz, Palestrina, and Howells, illustrating the richness and depth of sacred music across the centuries.
