Artist: Vern Simpson. Oil on canvas, 20" x 24". Vern Simpson, has been a practicing painter and sculptor in BC and Mexico since the 1970s. Known for his vibrant, colour-driven landscapes, and his iconic "Gassy Jack" sculpture that stood in Gastown for more than 50 years, Vern now resides in South Surrey. The artist has generously donated 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this painting to Semiahmoo Arts.

Artist: Jeanette Jarville. Acrylic on canvas, framed, 16" x 20". Jeanette is full-time painter and sculptor practicing in South Surrey. Gallery represented for over 25 years, her work is included in more than 1,400 public and private collections internationally. This piece captures the view southwest toward Boundary Bay from Crescent Beach, a familiar path Jeanette often walks before heading into her studio. Framed in a vintage window frame and ready to hang. The artist has generously donated 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this painting to Semiahmoo Arts.

Artist: Alan Cheung. Acrylic on canvas, 16“ x 20“. Alan Cheung holds a BFA from Simon Fraser University and has been painting, drawing, and practicing pottery ever since. An active member of the Semiahmoo Arts Society’s weekly pottery studio, he loves blending his passions by painting directly onto his handmade ceramics. This piece captures Uli’s Restaurant, an iconic landmark on the White Rock waterfront and a favourite of the artist’s family. The painting celebrates the warmth, local charm and personal memories that make this familiar spot so special.

Artist: Manmeet Dhaliwal. Oil on canvas, 16" x 20". Manmeet is an artist based in Surrey BC, working with oils and charcoals, and a wide variety of inspirations that keep him motivated. This painting captures P'Quals, the iconic white rock, an important landmark in Semiahmoo First Nation oral history as well as the iconic namesake of White Rock. Manmeet has beautifully captured the moody, cloudy summer day we had on July 25 for the 2026 Paint the Town painting event.

Artist: Vojislav Morosan (1941-2008). Oil on canvas, 23" x 15", 1998. A special submission to the auction. Vojislav (Voja) was a prolific painter known for documenting the history and changing landscapes of White Rock and surrounding areas from 1996 to 2008. Working primarily in oils, he became a familiar local figure and dedicated much of his later career to preserving the community’s landmarks and character on canvas. This detailed painting shows the quiet charm of Crescent Beach circa 1998. The artist's wife, Norma, has generously donated 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this painting to Semiahmoo Arts.

Artist: Allison Redies. Acrylic on canvas, 16" x 20". Allison is an artist and children's art educator who is inspired by bright colours, community, and a sense of place. Joy, humour, memory and play are an important part of her creative process. She chose this garden pathway for its vibrant flowers and beautiful view of the water. Allison thoroughly enjoys participating in Paint the Town, both for the experience of artists gathering, connecting with the community, and chatting with people passing by, and because it has become an annual tradition for her and her son Nathan who have participated together for over a decade.

Artist: Yan Song. Watercolour, framed, 11" x 14".Yan posses a passion for urban sketching and is also an avid watercolour painter. Elgin Heritage Park and Stewart Farm is a place she often visits to walk, sketch and paint. This piece depicts the Totest Aleng building, a Semiahmoo name meaning "learning house". Totest Aleng is a cultural and artistic space designed to support Indigenous practices and learning.

Artist: Melissa Peacock. Acrylic on canvas, 11" x 14". Melissa is a watercolour artist who paints local plants and animals in a semi-realistic style, often with unexpected surface textures. She draws most of her visual inspiration from urban forests and aims to restore our natural sense of wonder in ordinary things. This piece is inspired by a cozy, sheltered spot among the stones and wildflowers on White Rock Beach, with added inspiration from the dazzling coneflowers nearby.

Artist: Nicci Battilana. Watercolour, framed, 16" x 20". Nicci Battilana is a Canadian mixed-media artist and author who creates whimsical, colourful, big eyed characters and creatures. She enjoys watching her art make people pause for a moment and slowly bring a smile to their faces. This playful piece celebrates some of White Rock Beach’s most familiar residents. Early in the morning, seagulls can often be spotted dropping clams onto the wooden pier to crack them open for breakfast. Here, Sebastian the Seagull has found a fish instead, looking directly at the artist as if to say, “Mine!”

Artist: Scarlett Ballantyne. Watercolour and ink, framed, 11" x 14". Scarlett is a South Surrey artist specializing in original watercolour, surface pattern design, mixed media and custom illustration. This whimsical watercolour captures Howe’s Market, an iconic White Rock storefront known for its local grocery offerings and colourful flower displays. Painted in her signature loose watercolour style and finished with ink, the piece celebrates the charm and character of a familiar local landmark.

Artist: Carla Maskall. Acrylic on canvas, size 16” x 20”. Carla Maskall is a West Coast artist who works across fine art, murals, set design and illustration. Her work includes illustrating the award-winning children’s book series "What the Seal Saw" and the outdoor sunflower mural at Crescent Beach’s Sunflower Café. This painting captures one of White Rock’s most iconic landmarks, the pier, on a grey day with rain threatening overhead. Playful clouds, colour and expressive brushwork bring a sense of joy and energy to the scene.
