Poetry Portal: Writing Through the Senses with Kathleen Charles What is poetry, really? What makes it enjoyable, and how do you begin writing something you could call a poem? How can you use your sensory experiences to create poetry? This workshop will explore different accessible ways to begin writing a poem by immersing participants into all of their senses. Our main tools will be our senses, and we will hone them with short writing exercises. They will be our portals to self-expression and connection with others through creative writing. Participants will leave the workshop with new writing they can share with their loved ones and new tools to nurture a creative writing practice. This workshop will be adaptable to the needs and abilities of all participants. Materials to awaken the senses will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own writing or art-making supplies as well. Expect a workshop filled with new experiences, playfulness, joy, and the power of creativity. A QWF StoryScaping workshop, in partnership with HLSL. This workshop will be facilitated in English. Please note that there will be a break for lunch. Snacks, teas and coffees will be provided, although participants are asked to bring their own lunch, or be prepared to purchase something in one of the shops or caf&eacute;s near the Resource Centre. Qu&#39;est-ce qui la rend agr&eacute;able, et comment commencer &agrave; &eacute;crire ce qu&#39;on pourrait appeler un po&egrave;me ? Comment utiliser ses exp&eacute;riences sensorielles pour cr&eacute;er de la po&eacute;sie ? Cet atelier explorera diff&eacute;rentes fa&ccedil;ons accessibles de se lancer dans l&#39;&eacute;criture d&#39;un po&egrave;me en plongeant les participants dans l&#39;univers de leurs sens. Nos principaux outils seront nos sens, que nous affinerons &agrave; travers de courts exercices d&#39;&eacute;criture. Ils seront nos portes d&#39;acc&egrave;s &agrave; l&#39;expression de soi et &agrave; la connexion avec les autres par le biais de l&#39;&eacute;criture cr&eacute;ative. Les participants repartiront de l&#39;atelier avec de nouveaux textes qu&#39;ils pourront partager avec leurs proches et de nouveaux outils pour cultiver une pratique d&#39;&eacute;criture cr&eacute;ative. Cet atelier s&#39;adaptera aux besoins et aux capacit&eacute;s de tous les participants. Du mat&eacute;riel pour &eacute;veiller les sens sera fourni, mais n&#39;h&eacute;sitez pas &agrave; apporter vos propres fournitures d&#39;&eacute;criture ou de cr&eacute;ation artistique.
