At Youth Climate Lab (YCL), we strive to make conversations about climate change more accessible and engaging for young people. Climate adaptation looks at how communities are responding to and coping with the impacts of climate change, from housing and infrastructure, to extreme weather preparedness, to climate education.&nbsp; This work is already happening in many different ways and at many different levels. To make these conversations more tangible and grounded in real places, YCL is hosting the Regional Realities Series. This series will explore community-led adaptation efforts with a regional focus, bringing together youth and community members from across so-called Canada to learn how different regions are responding to climate impacts in ways that reflect their local realities. These webinars will bring together intergenerational audiences to share resources, amplify regional adaptation science, and present stories of community-led resilience. Each webinar is designed to be accessible and youth-friendly, integrating real-world case studies to ground climate adaptation in relatable contexts. There will be ample opportunity for participant interaction and each session will conclude with a Q&amp;A to encourage engagement and shared learning. YCL has partnered up with ClimateWest to discuss climate adaptation in the prairies. ClimateWest is a non-profit organization and a regional hub for climate services in Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan empowering people, communities, businesses, and governments to address risks and opportunities caused by a changing climate.
