AI is reshaping teaching, assessment, and governance&mdash;how should we respond? As generative AI becomes increasingly embedded in everyday academic work, including teaching and learning, faculty and academic leaders are grappling with how to make strategic, responsible decisions about teaching and assessment&mdash;decisions that uphold academic integrity while preparing students for an evolving workforce. This 90‑minute interactive session, led by Dr. Nicole Johnson, is designed to support administrators, faculty, and teaching and learning leaders who are navigating AI‑related decisions, often in the absence of clear or established policy. Drawing on findings from CDLRA survey data and CDLRA partner resources, this session focuses on sense‑making and decision support, rather than tools or platforms. Participants will explore how long‑standing assumptions about instructional practices, academic integrity, and learning outcomes are being challenged by AI&mdash;and where promising, emerging practices are beginning to take shape across the sector. Through guided reflection and interactive discussion, participants will work collaboratively to develop decision‑making principles that can support responsible AI experimentation, inform governance conversations, and lead strategic, reflective change within their own institutional contexts. *All proceeds from this event will be used to support the CDLRA&#39;s 2026 research efforts.
