Youth Climate Lab (YCL) is hosting a youth policy jam series to amplify regional climate adaptation science, resources, and community-led resilience! Adaptation is a growing and necessary field in climate action. Youth and communities are interested in this work, and YCL has a priority to make this knowledge as accessible as possible. The policy jam series is happening in parallel with our regional webinar series to continue the work of solution-based activities and to amplify youth voices in regards to climate adaptation work. Our first policy jam is based on climate adaptation in the prairie provinces, which will be co-facilitated with Junotta Wilson on February 18th, 2026. Policy jams are an innovative, engaging and action orientated space created to leverage design thinking principles to better inform policy discussions. Youth participants, including policymakers, entrepreneurs, non-profit leaders, and artists, come together to brainstorm solutions while practicing Radical Collaboration. &nbsp; Junotta is an environmental education and public health professional with experience supporting youth engagement in science literacy and policy in Canada. She is a Master of Public Health candidate with a background in nutrition, food systems, and federal environmental policy through work with Environment and Climate Change Canada. Junotta has delivered curriculum-aligned climate, agriculture, wildlife, science, nutrition, and natural resource education to youth across Alberta, integrating critical thinking, equity, and place-based learning.
