When: Sunday, October 18th, 2026, from 11:00 am&ndash;1:00 pm Where: Hoy Creek, Coquitlam (exact meeting location shared in confirmation email) Target Species: Coho and Chum salmon Event Description It&#39;s that time of year again, when Special Bird Service becomes Special Salmon Service! We&#39;ll be returning to Hoy Creek in the hopes of seeing spawning Chum and Coho salmon, as well as any other critters the spawn may attract.&nbsp; We&#39;ll discuss how salmon can thrive in urban environments when habitat is restored, the challenges they face, and the many ways they enrich the ecosystems they inhabit! We&rsquo;re looking forward to gathering by the creek to witness the salmon&rsquo;s return and reflect on the deep inter-connection between salmon, birds, and our shared ecosystems. This event will take place rain or shine, so come prepared for the elements!
