Double Album Release!! Join Sam Wilson and Ally Fiola &amp; the Next Quest as they both are releasing new albums this season.&nbsp; Ally Fiola is a Nova Scotian saxophonist, film composer, and bandleader of The Next Quest, a groove-based jazz ensemble. Known for blending memorable melodies with infectious grooves inspired by funk, soul, and New Orleans brass bands, Ally&rsquo;s emotionally charged jazz compositions have earned recognition, including a nomination at the 2022 Marvin Hamlisch International Music Awards and multiple Music Nova Scotia award nominations. Ally&#39;s recent 2026 record, Exit 10, &nbsp;is a jazz concept album that celebrates her roots in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, where each song is titled after an important location to her growing up. A nostalgic narrative is woven through the fusion of Ally&#39;s unique groove-jazz sound with elements of the East Coast music tradition. It features award-winning Canadian and Atlantic musicians, including violinist Donald MacLennan, Mary Beth Carty on accordion, drummer Lowell Whitty (Heavy Weights Brass band), tap dancer Michele King, and the impactful vocals of reggae and soul artist, Jah&#39;Mila.&nbsp; Sam Wilson is an award winning guitarist, composer, and educator based in Halifax/Kjipuktuk, Canada. Her album Wintertides (2024) has been played regularly on national radio including CBC&rsquo;s Saturday Night Jazz, and was warmly reviewed by The Whole Note, Rhythm Changes, and Jazzmania. Wilson has performed at jazz festivals across Canada, including Halifax, Vancouver, Victoria, and Calgary. Recent commissions include writing for Symphony Nova Scotia through Upstream Music Association, Tim Brady&rsquo;s Instruments of Happiness, and Rooted Dance Projects. &nbsp;Her forthcoming album (October 14th 2026), Sowing Spring, is an 8-track album of original instrumentals composed by Sam in response to the melting Magaguadavic River, and performed with an ensemble of east-coast collaborators: Caito Macdonald (drums), Kyle Tully (bass), Nicola Miller (alto saxophone and bass clarinet), and Hayley Ryerson (fiddle).
