Save Lorneville Benefit Concert&nbsp;The Save Lorneville Group has been working long unpaid hours to do everything they can to stop the proposed 390 Megawatt Hyperscale Data Center project from moving forward in the Spruce Lake Industrial Park.Community members have spent countless hours researching policy, gathering evidence, making calls, sending letters, networking, and organizing events advocating for safety and protection of their community and the ecosystems that surround it.They are at the point where this passion project may start to cost more than just free labour.<ul fr-original-style="text-align: start;" style="text-align: start; box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">They may have to pay the city&rsquo;s Legal Fees: The city of Saint John has requested that a portion of their legal bills be paid by Save Lorneville, should the case be dismissed by the Judge. Save Lorneville has requested that no cost be awarded to either side due to the public interest of the case.&nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Additional studies cost money: The Government of New Brunswick&rsquo;s Environmental Impact Assessment framework is geared toward identifying what will be destroyed, rather than protecting the environment, preventing damage, or assessing the cumulative effects of a project within the context of the surrounding industrial landscape. As such, many studies are not required, not requested, not comprehensive (year-round) and do not account for the cumulative effects of existing industries in the area.&nbsp;</li></ul>
