It is the very foundation of traditional fabric printing. In this course, participants will be introduced to simple lateral repetition techniques in textile screen printing as well as color mixing. (For example, how to vary shades to create new colors from the original ones).&nbsp; By creating their own designs, participants will be able to experiment with and understand the logic behind both techniques so they can incorporate them into their personal practice.&nbsp; Methodology &nbsp;&nbsp; Through a series of guided exercises, the following techniques will be covered: &nbsp;- Creating a design (its repetitive composition, exposure, and water-based development)&nbsp; - Creating a color using different tones and transparencies. - The method of repeatedly printing a pattern for screen printing. - Individual and ad-hoc work on pre-printed fabric. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; At the end of the session, participants will have a fabric sample (such as a table runner or scarf) featuring a repeating pattern.&nbsp; Objective&nbsp; The purpose of this course is to introduce participants to textile screen printing. It is the very foundation of traditional fabric printing. In this course, participants will be introduced to simple lateral repetition techniques in textile screen printing as well as color mixing. (For example, how to vary shades to create new colors from the original ones).  By creating their own designs, participants will be able to experiment with and understand the logic behind both techniques so they can incorporate them into their personal practice.  Methodology    Through a series of guided exercises, the following techniques will be covered:  - Creating a design (its repetitive composition, exposure, and water-based development)  - Creating a color using different tones and transparencies. - The method of repeatedly printing a pattern for screen printing. - Individual and ad-hoc work on pre-printed fabric.                  At the end of the session, participants will have a fabric sample (such as a table runner or scarf) featuring a repeating pattern.  Objective  The purpose of this course is to introduce participants to textile screen printing. By learning to create a side-to-side repeating pattern, students will gain an understanding of the fundamental principles of traditional textile printing.
