Luigi Pirandello’s 6 Characters in Search of an Author is a dark comedy that reflects on the art of theatre by focusing on a family drama. As two actors and a director are rehearsing for their new play, they get interrupted by four “Characters”, incomplete creations of another playwright who demand their stories be told onstage so that they can properly heal. The step-daughter, former prostitute, and the father, experienced an insurmountable fracture in their relationship and now seek the involvement of an “author” to make sense of their trauma.
