Come discover a first phase of this project in development ESPOTEWSET / The Bear Queen, a work from Ondinnok Theatre that will be presented at the Maison Th&eacute;&acirc;tre in Montreal during the 2026-2027 theater season. A week of technical residency at the Quai des arts, focusing on movement and projection, will allow the artists to make a leap forward in the creative process. ESPOTEWSET / The Bear Queen is a poetic and initiatory stage work aimed at an audience aged 11 to 14. The story unfolds in a space suspended between dream and reality, between a contemporary non-place and an ancestral forest inhabited by spirits, memory, and metamorphoses. Soleil, a young adopted Indigenous girl, feels that an essential part of her story is slipping away. Troubled by the silence surrounding her origins, she is drawn into a journey between dream and reality, guided by Kahkakuhs, the raven, guardian of ancestral memory. In the forest, she discovers that her biological mother has transformed into a bear queen, a mythical figure linked to the territory and the animal spirit. By accepting this heritage, Soleil reconciles her worlds and regains her language, her name, and her roots.
