This is not a traditional class — it’s a conversation-based experience designed to help you build confidence speaking while connecting with people from different cultural backgrounds. Each session will include conversation prompts, interactive activities, and small-group discussions guided by an experienced facilitator. The goal is simple: practice speaking, build confidence, and enjoy meaningful cultural exchange. How it worksEach session is 1 hour and divided into two parts:• First half: conversations in English• Second half: conversations in Spanish Participants will practice in pairs or small groups, discussing everyday topics such as hobbies, culture, and personal interests. Her passion for teaching Spanish began at Reed College, USA where she led the Spanish conversation club, organized cultural events, and tutored students. This experience led her to earn a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics for Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language in Madrid, Spain, and recently, a Certified Training Practitioner designation by The Institute for Performance and Learning, Canada. She has taught Spanish at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, International House Vancouver, community centres, and through private instruction. During her 13 years in Toronto, she worked at CIBC as a business office administrator and at Scotiabank as a Community Lead and learning program administrator. Now based in Victoria, British Columbia, Ana Lucia is expanding her practice.
