An artistic exploration workshop and conversation. This event invites Queer members of the BIPOC community in a discussion around ancestry, land, pre/de colonialism, belonging, home etc. The discussion will be launched by a short film, opening the conversation. You will then be guided into a mirror collage workshop, creating a unique piece to take home with you.&nbsp; Charly is a queer multidisciplinary immigrant artist living in Montreal. Their art focuses on belonging and being unapologetically themselves. Their homelands (Mauritius, Madagascar and Reunion) feeds their artistic practice in many ways. Charly ran multiple workshops in their professional and artistic life, where they pride themselves on prioritizing a safe space and accessibility for Queer BIPOC community members. QPIRG-McGill is a student-initiated, student-funded, student-run organization that actively works towards social and environmental justice. Through socially-engaged research, popular education, action, advocacy, and our working groups, QPIRG connects McGill students with the greater Montreal community. This event is part of our larger Culture Shock 2025 series, which explores the theme of Land in relation to liberation, decolonization, and environmental justice.
