The Decolonizing Circle is a community for individuals to come together, learn from one another, hear stories, heal, and reflect. We offer bi-weekly live sessions and on-demand courses to decolonize our minds and our beings.
Decolonizing ourselves is challenging, especially when we have not been made aware of colonial history, how we’ve contributed to it, or how to change it. As we begin the journey of decolonization, the unravelling can be difficult, having to reconcile the trauma that comes with learning that we’ve been a part of creating trauma for other community members, without our knowledge and consent.
This is a space for us to come together, learn, heal, and reflect. This is intended to be built as a community, offering tools, workshops, guest expertise so we can safely acknowledge our colonial contributions, and transform white privilege and supremacy.
This space allows us to take the burden away from Black people, Indigenous people, and people of colour to educate us, which is unfair because ultimately, it is our responsibility to educate ourselves.
That being said, all voices are welcome in this space.
In fact, we particularly welcome those of us who are entrenched in Dominant and Western Worldviews, needing to dismantle our white privilege for collective transformation.
Offerings:
2-Hour Biweekly Group ONLINE LIVE Sessions
On-Demand access to LIVE sessions (available 24 hrs after)
Guest Experts and Facilitators, based on community requests
Additional On-Demand Course Content (COMING SOON!)
Contributions:
- We intend to keep this space as accessible as possible, but we do have to acknowledge that there is time spent in preparation, planning, and facilitation, including guest facilitation.
- Access to our offerings would be available as a monthly contribution at $15 or $30 per month for 4 hours of time.
- We expect another 2-3 hours of time between each session for readings.
- You can cancel your contribution any time.
