Rumble and Progress Lab 1422 is organizing a live reading of The New Gaza Monologues at Progress Lab on Monday, January 27th at 7:30 pm.  Context: <a href="https://www.ashtar-theatre.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color:initial;user-select:auto;box-sizing:inherit" target="_blank">https://www.ashtar-theatre.org/</a> has put out a call for support from theatre companies around the world to host readings of “The Gaza Monologues”, "The New Gaza Monologues" and "Letters to Gaza" to occur from November 29th 2024 onwards. With space generously donated from Company 605, Rumble and our collaborators at Progress Lab 1422 will be hosting this event in solidarity. Part of the request is also to create recordings of the event, as such, we will be taking audio recordings for potential further dissemination. About: The Gaza Monologues are testimonies written by ASHTAR youth in 2010, after the first war on the Gaza Strip. Tragically, these Monologues are still accurate today. They are highlighting the horrors, hopes and resilience of the courageous Gazans to a wider audience, bringing out the voices of children and people in Gaza. Amidst the relentless assault and genocide targeting the Palestinian people in their homeland, Ashtar has compiled new monologues that speak to the experience of people in Gaza today. We will be reading the new monologues at this event.  All proceeds will go towards supporting families in Gaza.
