EcoArt Lab is a new program by the Creative Community Impact Association (CCIA) that explores environmental questions through creative practice, collaborative learning, and systems thinking. In this session, Wheel of Change, participants reimagine the traditional Phenology Wheel as a tool for visualizing the life cycle of materials within a circular economy. Facilitator: Charlotte Genge, EnsembleCo Consulting During this two-hour creative lab, you&rsquo;ll investigate the hidden story of an everyday object. Working with a small &ldquo;waste specimen,&rdquo; such as a plastic bottle cap, you will create a scientific-style illustration and mixed-media artwork that traces its journey across time. Starting with the material&rsquo;s geological origins at the center, the wheel expands outward to map extraction, manufacturing, and consumer use. The outer rings then imagine a 12-month circular future of repair, redistribution, reuse, and creative transformation. Combining scientific observation with artistic experimentation, this workshop invites participants to rethink waste as a resource and explore how everyday design choices connect to larger environmental systems.By the end of the session, you will leave with a circular systems artwork that visualizes a material&rsquo;s lifecycle and offers a creative framework for thinking about sustainability. No prior art experience is required. All tools and sustainable materials will be provided.
