The pastoral beauty of the English countryside comes to life with Elgar, Vaughan Williams, and Holst. On what would be his 90th birthday, we honour North Shore composer Michael Conway Baker with his three‑movement tone poem Through the Lions Gate, closing with its most beloved movement, The Mountains: the most beautiful melody and most recognizable moment of our entire season. Soloist Emma Ringrose joins us with features for Oboe and English Horn.
