Hello friends of the Boot! We are currently working on a legacy project to compile stories that showcase the importance of the Boot as a community hub for English-speaking Townshippers. Built in 1868 as a dairy farm, the building at 25 Chemin Bolton Pass has been The Thirsty Boot since 1961, founded by the current owner's uncle and his ski buddies in the basement of what was then the Beaver Pond Inn. That's over 60 years of history serving the English-speaking communities of Knowlton, West Bolton and surrounding regions of Southern Quebec. During those years, have been so many community events, ice rallies, weddings, wakes, parties, and celebrations. Since purchasing the property in 2020, we've been keeping up this tradition and are doing everything possible to keep it going, but the core spirit of the offering is at risk. We're calling on our community now for support in assembling personal histories, testimonials, documents and photographs demonstrating that the Thirsty Boot is worthy of Heritage Anglophone status in the area.  We've set up a raffle in support of this endeavour. Winner receives our help in hosting their own party here at the Boot - be it a birthday, family reunion, or celebration of life, which we will support with the space, music playlists and a homemade cake. N.B. participation in the raffle is not required.
