Sunday, Sept 20th, 11am
This workshop focuses on the power of “yes, and”, emphasizing how being a performer and a producer makes us versatile collaborators.
From the lens of my own lived experiences we will discuss self-production as autonomy, sustainable advocacy for ourselves and our communities, the nuance of creating and pitching work at the intersection of street and contemporary dance –--
how specific can we get when speaking about our work or what we want to make?
You will leave with tools that hold your ideas in a strong framework. Lastly, we will discuss the logistics and the dreaminess of what it really means to be a creative entity who balances multiple sectors.

Exploring our relationship with what’s underneath our feet; hands; shoulders, butt, etc.
These ideas and approaches are from my bboy/breaking practice.
At the end we will session and I will show you how I do this as a social practice as well.
This is a free session for able bodied people. I am unfortunately not equipped to offer accessible ways to engage this type of practice with disabilities. Of course, all are welcome to come and observe as there might be something that can be adapted or flipped to your own practice. I am curious and open to having dialogue and seeing what is possible.
