Help us celebrate the upcoming BC Rivers Day by planting native species along the trail with the Central Kootenay Invasive Species Society (CKISS) and Castlegar Parks and Trails Society (CPTS).&nbsp; No experience needed! We&rsquo;ll provide the tools, guidance and lunch. Come lend a hand, learn something new and help make a difference for the Waldie Trail and the Columbia River.&nbsp; Event is from 10 am - 1 pm but stay as long as you can! Space is limited&mdash;sign up today! Native plants provide food and habitat for wildlife, help keep invasive species in check, and support a healthy Columbia River by protecting soils and water quality. Together, we&rsquo;ll plant native species where invasive plants have been removed and give the area a helping hand toward long-term ecological health. Come dig in, make a difference &amp; volunteer with us! This event is made possible with the support of Columbia Power, the Fish and Wildlife Compensation Fund, and Trans Canada Trail&#39;s Planting for Tomorrow program. Parking is tight, carpooling is encouraged.&nbsp; All the tools needed will be provided but please come prepared to be outside.&nbsp;- Dress for the weather- Wear close toed shoes- Bring a water bottle&nbsp;- Garden gloves will be provided but feel free to bring your favourite pair.&nbsp; Your support is greatly appreciated!
