About the speaker:

Lene Hansen is a criminologist specializing in financial crime with over two decades of international experience. Her career began focused on the human rights of sex workers, but shifted dramatically to corporate crime after an encounter with a victim of a crime committed by Robert Maxwell. This work led to postgraduate study at Jesus College, University of Cambridge.

Hansen has since worked globally on a diverse range of projects, including:

  • The Peregrine Investigation for the Financial Secretary of Hong Kong.
  • Developing derivatives risk systems with the Options Clearing Corporation of Chicago.
  • Addressing environmental degradation across Asia.
  • Implementing anti-money laundering protocols in Dubai.
  • Analyzing the fallout from the Royal Bank of Scotland's takeover of ABN AMRO.

Her expertise spans investment banking, exchanges, regulators, and litigation in over 20 countries
