Come meet an overwintering flock of Cackling Goose, the diminutive, adorable, and Arctic nesting cousin of the Canada Goose. Learn how this species is changing its behaviour because of climate change, and how to separate this species from its much larger cousin. Extra binoculars will be provided for those who need them, but we expect to not need a spotting scope for this event, as the geese are habituated to people. We will be on a gravel trail that will have goose poop on it, and may be partially flooded depending on weather previous to the day of. Please bring appropriate footwear. By registering, you&rsquo;re supporting education, recreation, and stewardship that center Global Majority, 2SLGBTQ+, and other marginalized communities of the Salish Coast. Come ready to notice the small things, meet new friends, and share the joy of being outside together.
